SAJNA`s leadership meeting with the spokesman for Balkh governor and the head of police press office.

The SAJNA leadership met with Balkh local government officials.

In this meeting, both sides emphasized on strengthening the media free activities in Balkh.

At today`s meeting, SAJNA representatives expressed their concerns over the growing violence against journalists in the northern provinces.

SAJNA Director Sekandar Maihanyar called on local authorities in Balkh to try to prosecute perpetrators of violence against journalists in order to reduce violence against journalists.

Matiullah Karimi, head of the Balkh Information and Culture Department, told the meeting that he is working to strengthen coordination between journalists and security agencies in Balkh in order to reduce the figure of threats by Taliban against journalists.

Munir Farhad, spokesman for the Balkh governor, also said that local officials in Balkh are working to provide timely information to the media and try to increase the presence of women journalists in media.
