Afghan media are facing the challenge of erasure and elimination


Officials of SAJNA and NAI media organizations expressed their concern about the current situation of Afghan media during their meeting in Kabul.

Ali Akbar Ahmadi, Manager of SAJNA in Kabul and Zarif Karimi, the Head of NAI said in their meeting that the presence of women in the Afghanistan`s free media has decreased by 96 percent.

It has been said in the meeting that most Afghan media are facing financial challenges and that dozens of video and audio media in the country are combating the threat of being removed.

Based on the findings of NAI office, currently 1,500 Afghan journalists have migrated to Afghanistan`s neighboring countries and are in a bad economic and mental situation.
