SAJNA`s leadership, GIZ officials and the officials of the ministry of mining launched conference in kabul.

SAJNA held a joint conference with GIZ office of German government, on the role of the media for creating transparency in the mining industry of Afghanistan.

In this conference beside the officials of the Ministry of Mining, the representatives of GIZ office in Kabul and the head of the Social Association of Journalists at North of Afghanistan were present.

Gulab Shah Bawar, president of the association, spoke about the role of the media in creating transparency in Afghanistan`s mining industry.

He emphasized that Afghan media can inform the public about shortcomings and existed corruption in the implementation of mining contracts and projects by making investigative reports on the mining.

In addition to the government officials, the civil society activists, journalists, and the students of Kabul University were also attended the conference.

Half of 90 participants of this conference were women.
