SAJNA`s held Conference about Media Awareness on Rule of Law in Society.

The Social Association of Journalists at North of Afghanistan, in coordination with the GIZ office of Germen government held a joint conference on media and its role in promoting awareness of the rule of law in Afghanistan.

More than 80 journalists, media activists, university professors, civil society activists and lawyers were attended this conference.

Gulab Shah Bawar, president of the association, emphasized on increasing awareness through media about the rule of law in society.

Mr Bawar, said that the media could raise public awareness of the rule of law in Afghanistan by conducting analyzes, discourses and legal programs.

Farzana Rahimi, a women`s rights activist in Balkh who attended the conference, said that the Afghan media, in coordination with the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Higher Education can launch specific legal programs to explain and analyze the existed laws in the country.

More than 45 participants of the conference were women who were invited from Balkh, Jawzjan and Sar-e Pul provinces.
