SAJNA`s leadership attended a meeting in support of reducing violence against journalists and access to information.

Representatives of various journalistic institutions in Balkh held a joint meeting with government officials to advocate for free access to information.

SAJNA Deputy Director Rahimullah Zawaak also attended the meeting. Mr. Zawaak emphasized on strengthening the process of informing journalists by government officials.

He said that since several months journalists in Balkh have been facing the challenge of accessing accurate, reliable and timely information.

He asked the government officials of Balkh province present in the meeting to solve this problem.

He also called on all governmental institutions in this province to deal with journalists in accordance with the law on the right of access to information and to provide the essential information to the media.

In this meeting beside the SAJNA board members the Balkh province culture and inforamtions department officials, journalists, representative of media rights organizations and spokespersons of local government dempartments.
