SAJNA celebrated the world press freedom day in Balkh province.

SAJNA officials celebrated the world press freedom day in Balkh with the participation of dozens of journalists and media representatives, civil society activists and media rights activists in Balkh province.

During the celebration meeting, which was held in the Mediothek office in Balkh, SAJNA director Sekandar Mihanyar emphasized on impartial and timely reporting by media and journalists in Afghanistan.

He mentioned: “here we are celebrating the world press freedom day in the country but in other hand the level of media activities in Afghanistan are declining due to the severity of insecurity.”

Meantime, Shafi Rahimi, the head of Mediothek office in north zone of Afghanistan said at the meeting that Afghan journalists are celebrating the world press freedom day with the purpose that they will never stop working for freedom of press and publishing of impartial and accurate information.

Rahimi called on Afghan governmental officials to work to increase the effective activity of state and non-state media in the country.
