Stopping international media coverage restricts access to information in Afghanistan
On Sunday, March 27, The BBC World Service and Voice of America - VOA announced that the broadcasting of their TV programs in Pashtu, Dari and Uzbek languages has stopped by the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Social Association of Journalists at North of Afghanistan - SAJNA, in accordance with national and international law on the right of access to information, does not consider it in the interest of Afghans to stop the Tv programs of these media.
SAJNA believes that this kind of actions restrict people`s access to information.
SAJNA calls on the Taliban to allow media free activities in Afghanistan, in accordance with Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
