SAJNA`s officials and the authorities of the Ministry of Information and Culture of Taliban discussed the activities of media and the freedom of press in Afghanistan.

SAJNA`s officials and the authorities of the Ministry of Information and Culture of Taliban discussed the activities of media and the freedom of press in Afghanistan.

At the meeting, SAJNA called on the Taliban to expand free media activities in Afghanistan, end violence against journalists, and pave the way to the professionalization of the media and Afghan journalists.

SAJNA also called for the protection of journalists and their families in Afghanistan.

Zabihullah Mujahid, Deputy Minister of Information and Culture of Afghanistan, stressed that Taliban are committed to increase media activity in Afghanistan and strengthen the freedom of expression.

Ali Akbar Ahmadi, Manager of SAJNA`s office in Kabul, told to the meeting that the SAJNA would soon hold training workshops for dozens of journalists in the north and west of the country in order to professionalize the Afghan media.
